Field forces

The project is located on the second floor of Happy Harbor in Bao'an District, Shenzhen. The whole building is a commercial complex building with a streamlined shape and a number of large oval-shaped public spaces in a series of high and low levels, with rich and interesting spatial changes. In the middle of the building is a green landscape, and the commercial tenants on both sides are arranged so that people can walk in this building as if entering a "modern version of architectural canyon". This project is the second store of Met Petal Met Patal after the Beijing store, with a large area of light facing southwest and a large outdoor terrace of nearly 150 square meters, where you can see the shallow bay of Shenzhen from a distance. It is the main battlefield for domestic or international architects and architectural firms to compete with each other, and it is inclusive, diversified and highly dynamic. The three spaces in order from high to low, extending from the city to the bay, people stand on the terrace as if their bodies are in the "canyon" highlands and cannot help but look far away from the sea. Third, internal canyon space creation: Since the main entrance of the venue is located in the inner side of the building, and the secondary entrance (connecting to the large terrace) is on the outer side of the building, the human behavior will certainly "flow" from inside to outside, so we create a fascinating canyon sequence space.

Challenge

How to balance the figurative and abstract space of the canyon? Too abstract is too smooth to look modern and lack of original power, while too figurative is easy to make the so-called "amusement park" effect; how to effectively control and realize the original spatial concept in terms of technology; how to achieve a sense of original power and modern sense of flat horizontal; how to experiment with the craftsmen on decorative concrete modeling and coloring.

Atmosphere

The "canyon" force field is created: when people walk into the main entrance of the venue, there is first a buffer space for the reception area, the right hand side of the entrance is the guide table; the left hand side is the opening of the "canyon", standing at this end you can see the natural light coming in from the terrace at the other end of the canyon. At the same time, the oval bar will appear at the end of the sight line, half of the bar is lit by the metal cover, which is smooth and modern from a distance and will trigger people's interest to continue exploring forward; the narrowest part of the passage is only 1.2 meters, so guests will be very close to each other when passing, and will even intentionally avoid it, walking into this long and narrow space is like water wandering in the canyon; the façade is curved and powerful, and is a section of "The façade is a "pure canyon" section, creating a sense of "fast flowing water" in the horizontal direction, and a clear outline of the canyon can be seen in the vertical direction, with the texture of the façade walls treated like the traces of flowing water. The dining table is made of custom orange-faced glass tiles, the top chandelier shade is also glass, and the ground pre-buried spotlights shine on the walls to create light and shadow, fully highlighting the direct collision between primitive space and modern industrial products. Through the canyon, the main dining area opens up to the horizontal layout of the tables around the center island bar, which can be switched to bar mode at night; a long seating area is set up on the north side against the "canyon section", where guests can enjoy the outdoor scenery on the south side while dining.
